Building an Addition

Picture 39
Before the Precision Panel SIP package arrives for your new addition, the concrete should be backfilled, the sill plates installed and the pony walls built. Also, remove the siding and cut the eaves flush with the exterior wall. Picture 40
SIP floor panels are very simple to install. The floor panels on this project, measuring approximately 20' x 48' , installed in about 3 hours.

When using Precision Panel SIP walls for an addition to an existing home, work 'out' from the existing wall to the outside edge of your floor system. We used Precision Panel SIPs for the exterior AND interior walls on this project. Picture 41
The interior walls were used to isolate the bathroom from the two new bedrooms. This picture shows more interior walls being installed.
Picture 43
This is a view from the roof of the existing house. There is a bedroom on the left and the right sides of the addition, while a bathroom sits in the middle of the addition. Picture 44
When using Preicision Panel roof panels on your new addition, it is best to start next to the existing house' eaves and move out toward the new rake eave.
Picture 45
The Precision Panel Roof panels cantilevered from the interior walls on this project. There is no ridge beam used on this project. Picture 46
